Boat Info: Matador is a 42’ Ray Davis custom sport fish. She was built in 1966 and then completely renovated and restored in 2004. She was initially built on a juniper wood construction and in 2004, the juniper wood hull was restored and covered with fiberglass. Originally, she was powered by a large, single diesel. Sometime later, she was refitted with twin caterpillar 3208 diesel motors. In 2006, the caterpillar motors were removed and replaced with twin 450 hp Cummins 6cta turbo diesel motors.

He has fished all the entire eastern seaboard from the cold waters of Maine to the aqua blue warm waters of Key West Florida. He has fished in the Gulf of Mexico, Bahamas, throughout the Caribbean, Venezuela, Costa Rica, and Alaska, catching all the best and biggest trophies during his travels. He has honed his skills as a mate and commercial fisherman in the mid-atlantic region and is skilled in catching anything the ocean has to offer from one pound spot and croaker to several hundred pound marlins and tunas. You will find Capt. Jake is very good at catching fish, and you will enjoy spending the day with him on the Matador.

Captain Jake is an expert North Carolina sport fishing captain and is knowledgeable in all phases and styles of fishing in the Cape Hatteras fishing region.
