After my last annoying trip where we lost 9 Yellowfin Tuna to Sharks, I decided to use heavier tackle to get the fish to the boat quickly before the Sharks stole our catch leaving us with heads.
We launched at 06h00 and made our way out of Durban Harbour for a short 4hr trip, it was a lovely morning with a light West wind blowing and the sea was flat making for a gorgeous day. The water off Durban is very clean, but not blue and very warm averaging just under 26 deg. C.
I did not find any Yellowfin Tuna, but we managed to land 3 Kawa Kawa of around 5Kg each and these gave us some good sport, these were the girls first fish ever and they were really fascinated with the fish.
