 Greetings from the Florida Panhandle,
Captain Steve here, to let you know that the fish are really chewing well. Lately we have been catching some really big redfish, mostly on live bait. Sometimes however, I like to throw a 3/4 oz gold spoon or a curl-tail grub and let it drift in the current, down the jettys and rock outcroppings in and around the pass. This is a great way to cover some water, as, in the strong current , it's sometimes hard to anchor, and the fish can be scattered out.
The flounder bite is about over, but we did get into some good-uns this year. The white trout and whiting are stacking up in some "secret spots" in the bay, where its constant action when you get on them. Also, there's some great trolling for grouper in the bay, we get big reds that way too, with stretch 25s or similar lures over rocky bottom in 20 to 40 ft of water.
These latest cold fronts have pushed the trout into the creeks and bayous. One favorite place is the steam plant, a hot water power plant discharge. It is catch and release only, but if you just want to go "pound on some fish" thats the place to go.
Thank you for reading my report, look up Blessed moon charters if ya want to stretch some string , capt. steve |
Captain's Bio: Hi, my name is Captain Steve I fish the inshore waters of the gulf coast, mainly in Panama City. I've been guiding inshore here for several years and consider myself truly blessed to be able to fish every day, and bring smiles to peoples faces, as I guide them to that trophy redfish or trout, or show a family a time to remember. The waters of the gulf are second to none when it comes to abundant fishing opportunities, and beautiful water. Come fish with me and see what im talking about, thank you, Captain Steve |
