Fort Lauderdale Fishing on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak
Light breeze out of the east southeast, 4-6 mph, 20% chance of rain, slight overcast in Fort Lauderdale FL which relates to a comfortable day of fishing on the Happy Day Today Topshot Fishing with client, Michael Barns and friends, from Pennsylvania.
Major schools of Bonitos and Tunas are still migrating past Fort Lauderdale FL, and are a perfect combination for a fast action fishing charter. I started off fishing at the sea buoy off of Fort Lauderdale FL in 120 ft. of water with two plainers down, one plainer with a 3 ½ blue reflector drone spoon and the other with a 3 drone spoon. Our five surface baits consisted of one yellow and green ¼ ounce jap feather on the center rigger buried, on the other outriggers two Ballyhoos and two Bonito strips with sea witches in front. The depth of water off of Fort Lauderdale drops off very quickly from 120 ft of water, which is 1.8 miles from shore, to 600 ft., which is an 1/8 of a mile further off shore. We trolled back and forth over the drop off, from 100 ft. of water to 250 ft. Our two plainer rods saw a lot of action, and our anglers caught Bonitos with a few King Fish mixed in ranging from 5-15 lbs on the Bonito and 5-10 lbs. on the King Fish. I trolled a little bit further off shore over one of our artificial wrecks sitting in 280 ft. of water, and this produced some Black Fin Tunas. There was constant action in this fishing charter and the three anglers, Mike, Bob and Al, enjoyed this fishing experience tremendously.
With a good catch of fish on the charter boat Happy Day Today Topshot Fishing, it was time to start heading back from our deep sea fishing in Fort Lauderdale FL to the dock at Bahia Mar. This ends another successful and adventurous deep sea fishing charter on the Happy Day Today/Topshot Fishing with Captain Zsak.
