Early Sailfishing

We are now into our second cold front here in Fort Lauderdale and we have started sailfish season nice and early. A week ago we had our first front and we had our first day with double digit sailfish...in october. Usually we don't catch 10 or more in a day till November but they have arived and we will take it. We just got our next front today and I am hoping that tomorrows charter can experience some of that great fishing that was here.
In the mean time there have been some decent dolphin offshore of Ft. lauderdale. Fish have been caught on weedlines and under birds and other debris and have been from undersized peanuts up to 20lb fish. When we have been trolling live baits offshore for them we have also caught sailfish along the same weedlines and debris. Under floating trash we have also caught some small weehoos. When we have caught 1 there have been more around and we have caught more then 1 at a time.
Back on the reef a few kingfish have been biting as well as wahoo on the full moon. Snappers have been on the reef and wrecks and a few gags and black groupers are holding on the wrecks. A few more cold fronts and the groupers should start to congregate on the wrecks.
Swordfishing remain hot off Fort Lauderdale. Our swordfishing charters have been averaging 3 bites in the day and 2-5 at night. This is the best time of the year to catch a swordfish so give us a call.
