The charter boat "Happy Day Today" has been in business fishing out of Fort Lauderdale, FL out of the marina Bahia Mar Hotel for over 25+ years. The original charter boat was a 47' Andy Mortensen wooden hull sport fish. After 17 years of fishing and more so boat yard work (worms in the wooden planks, rotten wood repairs, and varnish work) Capt. Tommy Zsak and Rick decided to buy a fiberglass 46 Hatteras with twin detroit power. The huge advantage of owning and fishing out of Ft. Lauderdale, FL is that the boat yard work is cut in half. No wooden planks needing to be replaced and all the work that goes into a wooden boat. Now the charter boat gets her fresh coat of Awl Grip paint each year, engines tuned up, new carpeting, couches and tackle. The work load is cut by about 60% to 70%.
The Hatteras is the first boat in line on the charter dock and we have been there the longest. Parking is available and the boat is always ready to fish. We have the boat iced up with all the coolers and fish box, fresh bait in the bit box (Ballyhoos, Wahoo strips, King Mackerel Strips, and Shark baits).

The charter boat has parking behind the boat and we are located on the first slip of the charter fleet as we have been fishing the longest.

When arriving, we will have the boat cooled down with airconditioning, waters in the cooler and live bait in the well. Every trip and day is different, for example we could have a dozen Goggeleyes, or a half dozen. Another nice enhancement about fishing off Ft. Lauderdale waters is that we catch bait at the sea buoy and the anchored ships within 4 to 6 miles of the inlet.

With the expertise of the captains Tommy Zsak and Rick, you will know that if the fish are biting, you will knock them dead, if the fish are not biting "as sometimes as we all know the bite is slow" you will see the efforts taken by the captains and as the son of a charter boat captain, I seen customers come back year after year and bookings a year in advance which we that you very much.

Should you be interested in a fishing charter, please contact the boat and will be more that accommodating to explain how the times, rates, fishing and format works. Also the website is user friendly www.topshotfishing.com to navigate through. Give us a call and we will be more than happy to answer any questions.

Tight lines,
Capt. David Zsak
