March 1st, 2011, Opening day and it didn't take long to see the first striper of the year. Nick Nastasi brought this 18.2 pound whopper into the store about 10:30 this morning (3/1/2011) that he caught in the Waretown area before dawn this morning and claimed the prize. It got him a new Shimano 5000 Stratic that he will use to throw lures tonight in search of #2. Hopefully I will get updates and more fish today. The weather is here...the fish is a' beauty

About the Author:
Charter Service Name: Absecon Bay Sportsman Center
Captains Name: Capt. Dave Showell
Captain's Bio: I have been involved with fishing Guatemala's Pacific Coast since 1990 and actually released the first Sailfish of the First International Light Tackle Association Tournament in 1991, coming in 4th overall for the event. I booked trips for Paco Maza's "Golden Sail Lodge" and we hosted "Mark Sosin's Saltwater Journal" in the mid 1990's. There is no doubt that Guatemala has the worlds best sailfishing and the big name big money boats have arrived, but now with the help of Capt. Dennis Wheeler and Parlama Sportfishing I would like to bring this great fishery to the "Average Guy" and do it in a classy way with the utmost safety and comfort to our customers.
