 | Lake Erie fishing in Ohio is divided into two basins, one being the western basin and one being the central basin. The western basin of Lake Erie is where the adult species of walleye, perch, and other species go to spawn. And in the western basin, if you are not enjoying a Lake Erie charter then there are numerous other non fishing activities to do. There is Cedar Point Amusement Park, an awesome park that offers some of the highest and fastest roller coasters around, also a water park, and many more activities to keep the family in fun and excitement until you get out on the water catching walleye or perch.
The Central Basin region becomes a prime area for reeling in some of the largest and most challenging fish that this area can provide you with. The central basin has deeper waters and while Lake Erie is known as the walleye capital of the world the central basin is really where the name originated because this is where the biggest of the big walleye come from. The central basin of Lake Erie is where walleye have been migrating to over the past 20 years or so, to get into these deeper waters where the best baitfish are.
